Bluegum Service Group is committed to the provision of safe work systems and practices and to a safe and healthy workplace for its employees and other site users.
The company has developed and maintains effective Occupational Health & Safety processes, including a comprehensive OH & S Manual and Safe Work Practices & Procedures.
Management of Occupational Health & Safety and Implementation of Processes
Management of OH & S includes the following:
- Training: All staff receives appropriate training to be able to safely perform the role asked of them.
- On-site Training: On-site training is provided to all staff, including demonstration and ensuring of compliance to safety procedures taking into account the nature, setting and directions of client's premises and operations.
- Safe Work Instructions: Clear instructions are issued to staff re: machinery operation and maintenance, chemical storage and handling in conjunction with client's OH & S instructions and site requirements. Procedures & Policies provided to every employee include the following: Manual Handling, Fatigue Management, Chemical Management, Emergency Contact Details, Basic Health & Safety Rules, First Aid, Fire & Safety Guide, and Needle-Stick.
- Workplace Inspection: Regular inspections are conducted by the Service Manager / Supervisor to ensure a safe working environment is maintained.
- Workplace Committee: Each workplace has an Occupational Health & Safety Committee, or has effective communication with Area Manager and Head Office to address any safety concerns or issues in the site.
- Accident Investigation / Reporting: All accidents/incidents are required to be reported and investigated to ensure safe work practices are followed, and an ongoing proactive approach is taken to ensure safety in the workplace.
- Rehabilitation: Any staff member injured whilst at work is afforded the opportunity to return to work as soon as possible under a rehabilitation program to ensure that they can be rehabilitated to pre injury fitness and return to normal duties as soon as possible.
- Monitoring: Monitoring includes formal QA-based inspection reports at the required regularity to assess, among other things, the general environment our employees work in an address any necessary changes as required.
- External Audits: Audits are performed as part of the company's QA Management System, which incorporates the policies and procedures set out in the OH & S Manual.

Partly through considerations of safety, but also through environmental concerns, Bluegum Service Group increasingly seeks to minimise use of hazardous cleaning materials.

Risk Management Processes
Risk Management Practices / Processes in the context of Occupational Health & Safety start with Site Safety Inspections and Risk Assessment of each site. Particular Risk Management Processes then include the following
